I am a lifelong learner.

I strive to be a better advocate every day.

As an adopted first-generation college student, and the youngest of five, I understand and respect the importance of furthering ones education.



I hold two Bachelors Degrees from Oregon State University. One in Education, the other in English and a minor in writing. I recently completed my MEd in Higher Education Administration at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where I focused on issues of mascuilinity pertaining to violence and bystander intervention, as well as research how to support low-SES first generation students, and how to understand social media as a tool for boosting student engagement on campus.



Students want to be heard; they desire to discuss, elaborate, and think critically—which is why I strive to create platforms for expression in my day to day life. In my experience, I’ve found that if students feel safe around administrators and fellow student leaders, they are more likely to participate and support each other. This then allows me to support them and their education more fruitfully.​

I believe that being able to listen to, and not simply hear, students is the most important facet to the teaching profession. In some cases the classroom may be the only place a student has the opportunity to be heard throughout their entire day—given that their parents may work odd hours or lack interest in their child’s achievement. Because of this, I place an expectation on myself to let all voices be heard within the daily conversation.



As an artist and a musician, I place the expectation on myself to do something new and to be dynamic. I want my creations to be unique, I want to do something that hasn't been seen or heard before. It's a lot to place on my shoulders, but I feel it's necessary in order to be successful.
